DOUGLAS HOTEL ARRAN LTD TEMPORARY CLOSURE STATEMENT FRIDAY 20/03/2020

To our Guests & Friends of The Douglas Hotel,

Due to the speed of COVID-19 pandemic escalating, along with the UK Government announcements, we have with heavy hearts made the sad decision to temporarily close The Douglas Hotel effective from Friday 20 March.

This decision has been driven by our responsibility to protect our team and our island from what is an increasingly challenging and complex situation.

We will reopen again as soon as we are able and will contact guests with future bookings in good time if we feel we are not able to honour reservations. Our team have contacted all imminent arrival bookings, but as we are experiencing high volumes of queries, we urge our guests not to call us please. We will contact all guests affected by this decision based on their planned arrival date to advise them of their options.

Alternatively, you may email stay@thedouglashotel.co.uk if you have any urgent queries or wish to cancel a future booking, we are now working from home to answer all queries.

We will continue to take bookings online for later in the year and would love you to consider pausing and postponing your visit to our beautiful island rather than cancelling. The livelihoods of our team, our community and the future of our economy during these unprecedented times depend on you and tourism.
