Absolutely delightful hotel with stunning views. Warm and friendly welcome by all the staff, we really enjoyed our three nights, The food was delicious and it and the whole place had a nice cosy feel to it. I would highly recommend a visit.

New year celebrations This was a new year Hogmanay celebration package for 4 nights, there is not one negative thing I could say about the whole experience. The food was outstanding from breakfast to dinner, the rooms very comfortable and roomy especially the bathroom and the robes and slippers a a lovely touch, the biggest wow factor has to be the staff everyone of them deserves a mention I’ve never seen so many staff happy at what they do and nothing was a bother thank you

THIRD VISIT As the title suggests, this was our third visit to the Douglas and every bit as good as the previous 2. The staff are very warm and welcoming from reception to housekeeping to the bar and restaurant. A particular mention must go to Alastair who makes sure that we, and our dogs, are particularly well looked after. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh with a really good selection on offer. The rooms are so comfortable, lovely big beds and everywhere is spotless. We very much hope to come back to The Douglas Hotel in the not too distant future.

Excellent hotel with beautiful grounds and obliging staff We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was large and comfortable with a lovely sea view. The gardens were beautiful, well stocked and full of autumn colour. The staff were pleasant and extremely obliging. We enjoyed our meals in the bistro, but I have to agree about the dim lighting. I like to see what I am eating. The bar is well lit and less formal. Lunch is served well into the afternoon, and light bites are available. I am probably in a minority here, and this is my only criticism. I really don’t like to see dogs where food is served.

Brilliant Stay Wow wow wow. Immaculate hotel, absolutely stunning interior. Quirky yet elegant. Our room was upgraded free of charge to an exec suite and it was beautiful. Even with a window not facing the direction of the sea we were blown away by the grounds which were absolutely breath-taking. As I am someone who can appreciate horticulture I wish to send huge commendations to the groundskeeper as I was gagged. In fact all the staff were friendly, both myself and my friend agreed the welcome we received from every staff member really put a homely touch on this place so props to you guys you’re all brilliant! We ate dinner in the bar which had a lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly as well which was a bonus for us! I had muscles for starter which were fresh and full of flavour. Followed by steak frites for main, i will admit the steak was overdone as I asked for medium rare and there was no pink at all through my steak. The meat itself though was a decent size and had the perfect amount of fat. The peppercorn sauce though was very watery. But seriously this is all I could fault. The cocktails were great and the wine list has been perfectly curated. Thank you for having us! Would love to come back :)

Quality in plain view! No idea how we've overlooked the Douglas for so long. Stopped in for a pre-ferry coffee & realised what we've missed out on. Stylish inside without being up itself and with a truly hospitable team, this is hidden in plain sight. In the bar area, the menu looks great & we'll priced so we'll definitely book a table. Coffee was good & we enjoyed our brief stop. One fir the next trip to Arran!

What a treat What a fabulous couple of days stay at the Douglas. We were very lucky to be able to stay in the suite on the top floor with its own private balcony over looking the water, a real treat. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional, a real asset to this place. Our room was super spacious, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent as was the service. Birthday Weekend made special thanks to the wonderful and polite staff. Amazing stay. Entire hotel is finished to a very high standard. Our Room was spacious, spotless and beautiful. All the staff were amazing, approachable and professional. Food in the bistro and the bar was fantastic. A massive thanks to Mal and Dan for making our birthday trip, mainly spent in the hotel a special occasion. We will be back and more importantly would highly recommend this hotel.

One of the best Boutique hotel experience we've had The Douglas was the second stop on our tour of Scotland and one of the best boutique hotels stays we have stayed at. This hotel rates up there with some of the best five star hotels. A magnificent red sandstone building stands out from the crowd as you approach the Brodick Ferry terminal. Staff - The reception staff at our check in were friendly and more than helpful with some information about the hotel, Brodick and Arran. Often a quick chat before we left each day and we were always greeted with smiles. The restaurant and bar staff were professional and service was quick and friendly both for breakfast and when we had drinks and dinner in the evenings. Housekeeping staff made sure the room was spotless and comfortable everyday. We never wanted for a thing. The Night Porters were also great and available when we needed them early one morning. You couldn't ask for friendlier people. No wonder they have received an award-winning reputation for hospitality. Room - One of the largest rooms we have stayed in, booked a room, but this could have passed as a suite in some larger hotels. Nothing spared in size, from high ceilings to spacious rooms, even with the super-king size bed and furniture we still had room to dance if we wanted to. Beds were very comfortable with goose feather mattress toppers making for a cosy night's sleep. Décor reflects the island and is excellently done. The bathrooms, well! - larger than some hotel rooms we stayed in, they have lush towels and bath sheets. The scented toiletries by Arran Aromatics made for a delightful touch. Tea and coffee were available in the room and shortbread biscuits to "dunk" as you sit in one of the comfortable armchairs and enjoy the views over Brodick bay. Food - We ate breakfast each morning in the Bistro which was really great with a choice of a buffet of fruit, muesli and yoghurt along with pastries and croissants. Then there were the selection of cooked options. Not forgetting the full Scottish , no need to eat for the rest of the day with that choice. In the evening the Bistro serves up a delightful menu, complimented by a good wine list. On the first evening we had the Mussel and prawn curry and Monkfish scampi, both of which were well presented and delicious. Washed down with a great Chardonnay. The desserts were excellent as well. The Bar also serves good food although a little lower key. Their burgers and fries are simply excellent. There is access to the lawns where you can sit and sip your drinks taking in the views of bays, castles and mountains, even on a chilly April evening. Some how in these surroundings we we oblivious to the weather. Location - You can't miss The Douglas Hotel as you sail in on the ferry. It stands tall against the backdrop of the hill red sandstone against the green. It dominates the seafront in the island's main village, Brodick, it is a C-listed building, with angular walls and large bay-windows and rolling lawns overlooking the bay, Brodick Castle and Goat Fell, Arran’s highest mountain. The hotel is also so close to the ferry terminal that you virtually drive off the ferry and into the hotel. Some idiosyncrasy, we were not expecting to see the waterbuck head quirky artwork, deep sofas and a grand piano. The hotel provided accommodation for the Duke of Hamilton, then laird of Arran, with a heritage dating from the 1700s it just flirts it's majestic splendor. This for us was probably a one off stay, but would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who plans a stay on Arran. You can't go wrong here.

Welcoming staff, delicious food We visited the Douglas after coming over for the day to walk. We had a delicious late lunch, fantastic service delivered by friendly staff. Made us feel very welcome and have been recommending to my friends and family. Definitely be back when next over on the beautiful Isle of Arran.

Outstanding room, lovely staff and great Bistro We stayed in room 103 which is a large suite. Amazing views with huge bay windows (6 in total) giving some the best views I have ever experienced. They include a telescope so you can see Broderick Castle, fishing vessels etc. Very spacious, clean and well equipped (even a wine cooler). Previous reports mentioned noise (we are above the bar). We did not have any but stayed Sun to Wed. Restaurant food is excellent but it is worthwhile requesting a window table (which we did).

Wonderful hotel with fantastic views This hotel exceeded our expectations by far . The moment we walked into reception we were greeted with a smile and it just got better from there . Our room was fantastic with an amazing view over the bay . We ate in the restaurant and the food and service were excellent. If we return to Arran we will definitely stay here .

Exceptional service After great customer experience of the bar food in 2024 when self catering on Arran, we booked for eleven nights this year. We were not disappointed. The care given by staff and their genuine interest in making sure guests have a superlative experience on holiday is second to none. The consistency of excellent service is a testimony to good management by Kate and her team and great training. Most evenings we ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed all of our meals. It was a good menu but we needed to order some of the dishes twice but they were all well presented and tasty. The tables in the restaurant are dimly lit so we requested a table as near the window as possible. Our bedroom on the second floor was light, spacious and comfortable with an armchair for each of us as well as an enormous comfortable bed. We had an unexpected side view of the sea, which was lovely. The bathroom was big and cleaned well each day. The hotel has a great location so that on rainy days it's a quick walk to the promenade between showers. We have already booked to stay next year.

Beautiful classy hotel just a short walk from harbour. Lovely restoration of an old hotel ,now with additional modern wing which blends in well. The gardens are fantastic and so well planned and cared for. We had a garden room as we had a dog staying. Shared space but no problems . Beautiful large room with comfortable bed and plenty of space. The hotel has lovely outside space as well as a lively bar and a separate dining space. Breakfast was excellent . All the staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming back.

Room 202 - Balcony Suite Having enjoyed our first ever stay at this beautiful hotel, when we return, it is unlikely that we would ever book another room! Yes, it’s pricier than most other rooms - but in my opinion, it is very worthy of the price. Sumptuous bedroom, vast balcony, amazing panoramic views, all so close to the main part of the hotel - but so incredibly peaceful. We were booked in for 3 nights, and left, reluctantly, wishing we could have stayed longer. With sunshine beating down for the duration of our trip, the porpoises and seals were never too far away. We had planned dining out each night. We didn’t. Couldn’t see why we would leave the hotel to dine somewhere inevitably less good. Staff - friendly and helpful, and the ladies in the bistro - an absolute hoot! (Thank you in particular Isla)

Stayed one night at the Douglas hotel before heading to Blackwaterfoot on the other side of the island and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Staff were so friendly and accomdating and on hand to answer any questions we had. Dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast the next day was brilliant. Their bar is also so, so beautiful. Gorgeous views whatever the weather. We stayed in Room 201 - booked a sea view executive room and it was very comfortable. Point to note - the room is on a higher floor so the sea view is through a small window but still very beautiful. Worth noting if you're expecting full window sea-views. I tend to get hot very quickly so REALLY appreciated the table fan they had in the room. A very large room and an even larger bathroom. It was our first time in Arran if a one night stay in Brodick was so wonderful - cannot wait to come back and see what more days and we will definitely be back and will definitely look to stay at The Douglas again. They sell additional Douglas Ducks for a fiver and I had to buy one and take it along with me whenever we're travelling. The Duck in the bathroom is free for you to take home!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy and luxurious hotel which is perfectly located in the centre of Brodick. We stayed in the Balcony Suite which has wonderful views across the bay towards Brodick Castle with the majestic Goat Fell overlooking it all. Breakfast was fabulous with many delicious hot and cold options available and it was great to get a proper pot of strong tea along with an extra pot of boiling water to make it last longer! We also ate dinner in the restaurant on two nights and the food and service were both excellent. We found this hotel a great base for exploring this delightful island and would recommend.

The Hotel was absolutely 💯 fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. Was the perfect location to get engaged 💍 at. The hotel managed the table with flowers, with Lorna being behind all the planning arrangements for me, and being our photographer after the ring was placed. The room was amazing (104), a fantastic size, with seating area, and a breath-taking view of the sea and mountains. The restaurant is absolutely fantastic as well, the food being to a superb standard. All the staff are so friendly, and give 110% effort to make your stay so enjoyable.

FANTASTIC

Fantastic hotel I could not fault it. Great location plenty of parking, staff were fantastic. We had a spacious well appointed room facing the harbour with lovely views, with every amenity you could ask for, even bath robes. The breakfast in the restaurant was perfectly cooked with good quality produce. The evening meals were just delicious, I would highly recommend this hotel, it was just perfect in every way.

Douglas Hotel joy!

Loved our stay at the Douglas. Proximity to ferry -blink and you'll pass it-we did. Room of high quality bed comfortable, room amenities of excellent standard. Hotel, bar and bistro furnished to a very high standard, breakfast choices varied. We ate there 3 out of 4 nights during our stay and were impressed each time although we anticipated a better choice of fish. Above all the staff were among the most welcoming hotel staff I have ever met, very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. A joy!

A thoroughly enjoyable stay

The room and bathroom were huge and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly, but best of all was the breakfast cooked to order. the French Toast came with loads of proper maple syrup! Recommended. I think that pretty much covers what I wanted to say.

Brilliant dinner Didn't say here although I may well do on a return visit to Arran. We had dinner here, 9 of us and they accommodated us so well in a wee room at the side of the restaurant. Bothe the service and the food and wine were great. Definitely recommend booking.

Great location, great food, great wine selection and great staff! 100% recommend this hotel, Arrived in Brodick without a car in a blowing gale and storm! We were not staying at The Douglas Hotel, but were so happy to be able to walk here and have a lovely afternoon meal, great wine and cosy atmosphere with beautiful outlook, even during a storm. Staff were so welcoming and friendly.

Excellent stay at The Douglas Hotel Just back from a couple of nights staying at the Douglas Hotel, Isle of Arran. We were 2 adults and 2 dogs. From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the staff were amazing nothing too much trouble. The dogs were very welcome even if one of them is a bit grumpy and barky! Very dog friendly and we were able to eat in the bar area at night an excellent choice of food and very delicious. Bar staff very attentive, friendly and polite. For breakfast we ate in the bistro and had the dogs with us. Excellent choice of continental or cooked breakfast which set us up for the day exploring Arran. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and hopefully we will visit again in the future.

Great coffee spot! Stunning views and decor Stopped here for coffee and cake a few times with friends. Been pleased with the visit each time! Lovely modern decor in the interior and relaxing place to sit outside too. Had scones that were lovely as well as brownies with our cappuccinos. Tasted amazing! Worth every penny. Great service too. We chose to eat by the outdoor seating benches because we had our dog. This was a nice option considering it was lovely weather

Great hotel My husband and I stayed this week for two nights. The hotel is lovely. We had room 001. A spacious room which was well equipped. The room also has a door out to a garden area. The hotel also welcomes dogs. The breakfast was fresh and tasty with a selection of continental and cooked choices. We had dinner both evenings, the menu was varied and the food delicious. A lovely hotel which we would recommend. We will return again soon. Thanks.

Outstanding all round We have just spent 5 nights at this wonderful hotel and our stay has been absolutely perfect. We had a gorgeous room with two windows overlooking the sea and the most comfortable bed imaginable. It was nice and quiet too. Every member of staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon when the bar was filled with local people making music; it was such a wonderful experience. On Saturday evening there was live music again from Starsky, which was fantastic. On top of all that, the food was lovely too. Just the rest and relaxation we needed. Highly recommended!

Best Dog Friendly hotel ever - AMAZING SERVICE 👏👏👏 Just back today from an Itison deal at the Douglas hotel and what an amazing stay it was (wish I had booked 2 nights). Stayed with my husband and our beloved Samoyed and we were treated like royalty. Received a free room upgrade and room 102 was amazing - the staff were soo friendly and Coco our dog was loving all the attention from the staff and other guests. Best dog friendly hotel ever and would thoroughly recommend it (breakfast was superb) - will definitely be back soon x

New Year Celebration

We had the most wonderful time at the hotel over new year with the family for 3 nights. The ceilidh on Hogmanay was fantastic as were the pipers from Arran high school. They played to such a high standard. The Douglas Dook on New Year’s Day was such fun and well supported. Music in the bar on the other 2 nights was very enjoyable We all agreed that it felt like a house party and was extremely welcoming. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so special . Kate and her team were amazing . All our meals were delicious and compliments to the kitchen brigade. It is a beautiful hotel in an amazing setting. Thank you all .

We’ve just spent 6 nights in this wonderful hotel over the new year. The room, the food and especially the caring staff are all fantastic. It feels like you’re part of a big family while you are there. Staff can not do enough for you. The location is staggeringly beautiful with views over the bay to Goat Fell. A very special place !

Great hotel with lovely staff and good food

We planned to stay for 3 nights but had to stay an extra night because the ferries were cancelled. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We ate at the hotel every night and every meal was well cooked and nicely presented. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant Hotel!

Have stayed a couple of times before and always wanted to return as the hotel is very cosy and well appointed. The team are friendly and welcoming and the food is also excellent. On this occasion there was disruption to the ferry service and the team were informative and helpful and were very eager to ensure we could still be fed despite arriving very late. Following the very stressful and choppy journey they could not have been more welcoming and were also kind enough to arrange a stunning upgrade to help celebrate our anniversary. The suite was huge with incredible views across the bay which was some sight to wake up to. Despite the rather remote location, the hotel could easily be found in any city centre and is run in a very modern way, it offers all of the amenities and touches that you would expect from a luxury stay. Thanks again to the Douglas team and we are looking forward to returning.

Superb again, really love coming here when we visit Arran. Food lovely and service excellent. Kids love the burgers and the puddings. We love the atmosphere and the service, lovely hotel with and excellent bar and restaurant. Hope to visit again next time

Had a lovely takeaway from the Douglas last night for my stepson's birthday. Would highly recommend. They went above and beyond to make our meal special. Even though mac and cheese wasn't on the menu this week they made is especially for the birthday boy and it was fabulous! We will be back! Cannot praise the staff enough, thank you!

We stayed in the Goatfell Suite and the Balcony Suite for our friend Sharon’s 50th ... they were wonderful... the weather was gorgeous on the Saturday so after walking Goatfell we spent the afternoon on the rooftop terrace enjoying the views... just amazing. dinner in the restaurant was fabulous as well.... the perfect getaway!

First time staying overnight in The Douglas (normally just been for food and drinks when on Arran which is always excellent)! We were not disappointed! We booked in for dinner here on the basis of the vegan steak. It did not disappoint. The hotel is lovely, the staff are spot on with their customer service, but most of all - as a vegan eating out and being used to disappointing food - I can’t overstate this. The vegan steak is delicious, my non vegan husband loved it too. And to have a couple of vegan dessert options too - yay! The blancmange was amazing, as was the sticky toffee pudding. Thank you for such a lovely meal

Hi, just wanted to say the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel from reception, bar and bistro we felt so welcomed by the friendliness and good service.
The hotel itself is beautiful and my husband surprised me by booking the absolutely stunning Goatfell suite which then inspired me to climb Goatfell itself. 
As our daughter lives at Balmichael glamping and we visit Arran regularly we will most definitely return for another meal and (the best) Espresso Martinis.

I write on behalf of my wife and myself to offer feedback regarding our stay in the Goatfell Suite during the above dates. Reception. From the booking stage to our arrival, we could not have been made more welcome by Holly, whose enthusiasm and professionalism were highly notable. Sharon and Dawn also deserve due credit for attending to our requests with friendly and genuine rapport. Dining. The food, breakfast and dinner, was excellent and well done to the chef(s). Breakfast in our room was made more pleasant by the enthusiastic crew who delivered it both days. Dinner was particularly memorable due to the professional delivery by the waiting staff Alistair and Nicol; and we would have bottled Alistair’s enthusiasm and humour had we been able to do so! Hygiene. Our room was immaculate, as were the toilets and communal areas and your cleaners did a fantastic job. Overall impression. Have I mentioned enthusiasm? We have stayed in countless 4*/5* hotels over the years and many deserve their star rating. What sets the Douglas apart, however, is the enthusiasm and warmth that simply oozes from all your staff. They have a unique trait that ensures guests feel they are genuinely welcome, without being either stuffy or too casual. If I have missed any names due to my forgetfulness, this similarly applies to them. In sum, what a cracking stay and engagement with your team more than compensated for the inclement weather. We would ask that you please pass on our most grateful thanks to all your staff for their gargantuan efforts in making our stay so memorable. With very best wishes for your continued success.

An excellent hotel who supported us so well when our ferries were cancelled! They coped so well with a sudden influx of guests and couldn’t have been more helpful. Great atmosphere, stunning modern design, superb service from all staff, lovely rooms and quality food! All very reasonably priced as well!! Outstanding VFM!

We chose Arran as our girlie getaway to celebrate my mums 80 th birthday and were absolutely delighted with the Douglas Hotel. We needed a third bed in our room which was no problem. All staff were super-efficient and extremely friendly. Food was excellent. We will be back.

Stayed at the Douglas for 2 nights in an executive room DBB. Can’t fault it. Our room was spotlessly clean, large with not only a comfy chair but a chaise lounge. Also nice added touch of a magnified mirror (being someone who wears glasses need help to see putting eyemake up on). Both breakfast and dinner excellent and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend

Perfect stay. Very dog friendly. Our room (101 ha!) was pristine with lovely views. So happy it was dog friendly. We are in the bar with the dog which was no different from the restaurant. The food was superb. Breakfast was delicious. Particularly the perfectly soft-boiled eggs with the yellowest yolks ever. Definitely free range. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is directly opposite the ferry terminal. We left a day early as the weather was awful and I was feeling a little unwell, but this is no reflection on the hotel, we'll definitely return.

Scotland is not short of grand old Victorian hotels. Sadly, however, all too often they are shadows of their former selves, run down, tired, in need of a lot of TLC and often also offer a service that leaves much to be desired. I'm happy to report that none of these criticisms can be levelled at the Douglas. Occupying a prime and commanding position on Brodick's seafront, it has been lovingly upgraded (at some point over the last few years, though it feels recent) to be a stylish, chic and contemporary hotel. Design has clearly been a priority and no expense has been spared in providing the full boutique experience. I was pleased to note that even the old sash and casement windows had been replaced with proper timber double glazed equivalents with not a bit of uPVC in sight! Excellent detail. Our room was excellent, a decent size, lovely big comfy bed, huge TV and everything you could want really, including an ironing board. A minibar would have been nice but I can live without it. We dined both nights in the restaurant. I was expecting it to be a little higher end but in fairness it does brand itself as a Bistro and is accordingly reasonably priced. It could be that there just isn't sufficient a market in Arran for fine dining and they have chosen to target slightly lower end food. Saying that, what was served was hot and tasty and there was a decent choice. We couldn't fault it all at the price and the staff were excellent too. Breakfast too was decent though I would have liked a couple of fishy options, smoked haddock or kippers as well as the "Full Scottish" variations. Good also to see a vegetarian option. Overall, couldn't fault the Douglas and would have no hesitation in going back.

It’s been so great to have spent time at Douglas on our breaks from across the water. Once as a couple and twice with our family and our l baby granddaughter. Everyone so accommodating and kind. We had great service in all 3 visits. Compliments to the kitchen brigade. Great breakfast and beautiful dinners. Our steaks on Friday were fantastic. Fantastic produce …. Makes for great taste. And to all bar staff and bistro staff. Thank you. This hotel has great rooms, very well appointed and so clean. Lovely views over Brodick Bay to the castle and beyond. 2 mins from ferry terminal and a short walk to the mini golf and beach.

We have just returned from a fantastic 3-night stay at The Douglas. It was a much-rearranged birthday present for my sister and the hotel were so accommodating throughout. When we finally managed to get there the stay couldn't have been better. We felt very safe while still having a lovely experience. The room was enormous, so comfortable and absolutely immaculate. We even had a sea view which was lovely! The breakfast and dinner were delicious, but a special mention has to go to the lovely staff who were so pleasant and helpful. We're missing The Douglas already and will definitely be back.

Stylish, smart, attentive staff, superb food. We sailed to Brodick on the sunniest and busiest weekend of the year. The hotel was absolutely buzzing but all of the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Covid regulations were being strictly observed, despite how busy the staff were. The food was superb, beautifully prepared and lovingly presented. Can’t fault the place, we will be back. The Chocolate Garden pot was an amazing unique dessert that enchanted our 12 year old son.

My mum and I stayed at the Douglas from 14 to 17 June 2021 and we've stayed numerous times before. My mum is a wheelchair user and has very limited mobility. The team at the Douglas are always so helpful and accommodating: they make sure we have a suitable table in the Bistro and are always happy to open doors to allow the chair through, help with bags etc. Staff are always very proactive in offering help and it makes us feel at home. We stayed in a ground floor room with wet room and it was great for my mum - the wet room is spacious and there's a shower seat with a handle. The dessert we had in the Bistro the first night almost made me weep, it was so good. Thank you to all of the team for another lovely stay.

It is a forlorn challenge to find fault. The staff are delightful, a friendly face at every turn – and the hotel is the perfect base for exploring the stunning isle of Arran. A £7million investment has transformed the Douglas into a stylish and classy boutique establishment …vibrant and modern. … Our room was spacious, warm and comfortable – the en-suite bathroom bigger than some of the hotel rooms I have occupied in the past. But it is the view that truly takes your breath away, with Brodick Bay laid out in front of you, the castle poking its head through the trees in the distance and Goat Fell offering a majestic backdrop. The dining experience really got the taste buds going. The Chateaubriand served on a skewer still has me licking my lips at the memory. It was cooked so perfectly that the steak knife was redundant – you could cut it with your finger.
